Photo - 1973 Tube Stock Step at Ruislip
1973 Tube Stock step needed to get out
of the train as seen at Ruislip (Metropolitan Line). The platform here is higher than the
floor of a tube train because the platform has to accommodate both tube and surface stock
trains. The platform height is at a
compromise level half way between the two floor levels. The difference between the
two is about 30 cms or 1 foot. This gives a 6 inch step up or down.
